Scientific Program
Schedule of Events
We provide both an online, hyperlinked schedule for scientific presentations and a pdf document of the master schedule with all events. Expect there to be a slight degree of change in this schedule.
Oral Presentations
Oral presentations will be restricted to 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes for discussion. The conference language is English. Facilities for computer projection (PC only, MS Powerpoint), a 35-mm slide projector (circular carousels only), and an overhead projector are available. Computer projection in PowerPoint format is preferred. A drop-off and review room for presentations will be available throughout the conference.
Poster Presentations
Posters, written in English, will be displayed in the foyer next to the auditorium throughout the conference. Multilingual abstracts on the posters are welcome. Poster sessions will be held following the main sessions. Poster size should not exceed 36w x 48h inch or 90w x 120h cm and the poster orientation should be portrait-style. For more information, see conference poster guidelines.
Workshops
Participants are invited to propose and coordinate workshops. Please see the workshops section of the website for more information.
Conference Papers
Should you choose to have your manuscript published in the proceedings of the conference, you should submit 1 hard copy of your paper and 1 electronic copy (MS Word format) to the conference organizers when you arrive at the conference. Each manuscript should indicate the section of the conference proceedings in which you wish to publish (Quail VI or Perdix XII). For more information on the publication volumes, see Publication of Proceedings below.
Format for publication will follow the guidelines for the Journal of Wildlife Management (Morrison 2005).
Publication of Proceedings
The proceedings of the conference will be published in two parts within one volume as part of the Quail conference series as Quail VI and as part of the Perdix series as Perdix XII. Authors will be given the choice of conference name and volume number to be used. Authors may also choose to have only their abstract published or submit a full manuscript for review.
Format for publication will follow the guidelines for the Journal of Wildlife Management (Morrison 2005).
Certificates of Attendance
Certificates of attendance will be available for those conference attendees requesting them. These will be available on-site once the conference has begun.
Social Progam
Social events will include an opening reception with beverages and musical entertainment provided. The conference opens the following morning with a gigantic breakfast buffet. Evenings will feature poster sessions with ample time for drinks and conversation. The conference closes with a Reception/BBQ in the courtyard of the Georgia Center with field trips the following morning.
In addition to planned social activities, downtown Athens offers plenty of musical and other entertainment. For more information regarding upcoming concerts/bands, please investigate the websites of the 40watt club, The Georgia Theatre, and The Melting Point, among others. The Flagpole is another good source of information, as is the Visitors Bureau.
