Conference Poster Guidelines

Document Actions

Posters, written in English, will be displayed in the foyer next to the auditorium throughout the conference. Multilingual abstracts on the posters are welcome. However, it should be noted that the conference language is English, so, one of your abstracts should be written in English. Poster sessions will be held following the main sessions.

Poster Specifications

  1. Posters should not exceed 36w X 48h inches or 90w X 120h cm and should be oriented in portrait format. Business cards or small leaflet literature for distribution may be inserted in an envelope and affixed to the board
  2. Posters should be printed in advance and transported in mailing tubes
  3. Posters should be attached to the boards by push pins, which will be provided
  4. Posters that do not meet these specifications will not be displayed

Advice on Poster Design

  1. Divide the content into appropriate sections and keep text brief. Report only key aspects of each section (e.g., introduction, study area, methods, results, discussion, management implications)
  2. Arrange the material so that it is readable and flows well
  3. Keep figures simple. Convey only one idea per figure, table, or photograph. Too much detail detracts from the primary message of the figure
  4. Text and figures should be readable to someone standing at a distance of six feet. Adjust font and image sizes accordingly. Bigger is generally better
  5. Photographs should clearly show what you want the audience to see
  6. Use appropriate blank space between words, sections, and figures. Avoid including too much information, which leads to a cluttered appearance and makes the poster difficult to read
  7. Use appropriate and compatible colors for fonts, backgrounds, and graphics. Utilize color contrast to improve readability and highlight key points, but keep it simple. Too much color can detract from the overall message. White backgrounds generally are best for text
  8. Simple typefaces are preferable to fancy fonts. Bold type may be effective on headings
